A New York based culture blog, Vulture, asked DJ Danger Mouse to make them a summer playlist. Danger Mouse’s largest claim to fame is the epic Grey Album, his 2004 mashup album. The Grey Album (he lived in England for 3 years) mixed acapella  bits of Jay Z’s Black album over beats crafted from the Beatles White Album. He also teamed up with Banksy to do an apparent pirate re-mix of Paris Hilton’s 2006 album. You can read about that here.

Recently, he teamed up with The Shins frontman James Mercer to form Broken Bells. They released an excellent album in March that was wildly popular. Needless to say the guy knows music. Here’s a link to the full list which has corresponding links to youtube videos of all the songs. One can also find the list available for download on iTunes entitled Vulture’s Endless Summer Playlist part 1 and 2. The playlist itself is awesome and impressive at the same time. There are many genres and eras represented fairly equally. Check it out.
