“Nice catch, Hayes. Don’t ever fucking do it again.”

Major League has a special place in my heart.  It was the first rated R movie I ever saw.  I remember seeing the VHS in our video cabinet and asking my mom if I could watch it.  I must have been under 10 at the time, but she let me watch it anyway.  I think she was only familiar with the toned-down, PG rated sequel.  I instantly loved it, both for its crude humor and its portrayal of the Cleveland Indians.

James Gammon, who played foul mouthed manager Lou Brown died Friday at the age of 70.  Thank you Mr. Gammon for playing such a vital role in corrupting my childhood.
